Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro renders show a new design direction for Google phones

While we’ve seen the renders of the Pixel 5a looking like an iteration on the 4a series, it seems Google is going in a vastly different direction for the Pixel 6, including adding a ‘Pro’ option instead of an XL.

The renders have been produced by Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks who shared the renders of both phones through digit.in (Pixel 6 Pro) and 91Mobiles (Pixel 6). The new design includes a horizontally mounted camera array, though the Pixel 6 appears to have one less camera sensor.

According to Hemmerstoffer’s sources, the Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.67″ display with a slight curve to it with the phone dimensions listed as 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm. The Pixel 6 on the other hand will still have a large 6.4″ display, though flat according to the report, and measure in at 58.6mm x 74.8mm x 8.9mm – both are obviously thicker with the camera bump (11.5mm for Pixel 6 Pro, 11.8mm for Pixel 6) , though a case should flatten the whole form factor out.

The phones both have a punch hole notch for a single front-facing selfie camera, and will use an in-display fingerprint scanner as opposed to the rear mounted Pixel Imprint scanner we’ve seen on most Pixel phones to date. The Pixel 6 notably has some large bezels around the display which could colour your choice when it comes time to order.

Official acknowledgement of the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro hasn’t come from Google – as you’d expect – so we’ll probably be waiting until around September/October for the usual ‘Made by Google’ hardware announcements.
