Google may release a ‘Flagship’ level Pixel in March 2021

The mid-range specs of the 2020 Pixel range has rubbed some people the wrong way. That’s possibly about to be righted with a wild rumour of a ‘Flagship’ level Pixel phone which could launch in March 2021.

The source of the rumour is Max Weinbach, normally noted for his excellent Samsung leaks, who tweeted out the entirety of the unsubstantiated rumour:

There’s been a lot of talk since the launch of the Pixel line, that Google needed to move up their phone release schedule to earlier in the year in order to take advantage of the flagship level CPU release cycle. New mobile chips from Qualcomm are generally announced late in the year, before availability in the new year. Google’s October release for Pixel phones has always been at the tail end of the cycle meaning that interest in the hardware is already waning by the time the Pixel phones launch.

There’s literally no other information on the rumour, so it’s a massive grain of salt you should take this with. I’ll be looking for more info, but it’s unlikely we’ll see much in the near future.
