Google has already had their next Nest Smart Speaker certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and after the subsequent leaks straight up just acknowledged it and even supplied a teaser video for it – now, we may have a launch date for it.
Roland Quandt, writer at winfuture.de, has tweeted that the speaker is due in retailers by the end of August, in Chalk and Charcoal colouring.
The new Nest Speaker is a departure from the now discontinued original Google Home smart speaker in both design, and functionality with the speaker borrowing from the Nest/Google Home Mini design rather than the original ‘Air Freshener’ look. Feature wise it appears you may be able to move around with this new Nest Smart Speaker, as shown in the teaser video.
Google hasn’t yet announced anything beyond the existence of the speaker, so we’ll have to wait for launch details. The launch of the Pixel 4a was successfully done via blog post, so it’s likely we may see something similar for the Nest Smart Speaker too.
